    • The Basics

    Episcopal Churches are administered by a Rector, who is an ordained priest, with the advice and consent of elected lay leaders, collectively called the Vestry. Two of the Vestry members are named Wardens and serve in special roles of advice to the Rector. The Clerk and Treasurer need not be Vestry members and serve important record-keeping functions within the parish. The Verger is the Rector's key liturgical assistant. The Sexton is the handyman around the campus and the Secretary keeps track of all this chaos.
