The Paul K. and Mary Sue Fisher Food Pantry

Who's Welcome?

This is an easy one. You are. Whether you're old or young, black, white, Latino, rich, poor, middle class, married, divorced, single, partnered, gay or straight, wildly religious, or somewhat resistant, it doesn't matter. Why? Because it didn't matter to Jesus. For us, the Church is called to serve and befriend all its neighbors as well as a place where all people gather to worship God and to grow in their knowledge and love of God. We are all on a journey and we all have more to learn about ourselves, about Jesus, about the Church, and about how much God loves us.

Can I help?

Sure. We always need helpers to unload our delivery trucks on Tuesday afternoons and to help serve our neighbors on Wednesdays. You can also help by making even a small donation of food or cash to the pantry's operation. Our entire ministry is run on a tight budget donated by individuals, many of whom are struggling to make ends meet as well.

Do I need to bring anything?

Yes. You must bring an Indiana state-issued ID/driver's license with your current address as well as a second proof of address. For households with five or members, ID's must be provided for all other household members as well. It's also helpful to bring some bags and boxes or a small cart. We can't help you take your groceries to your car or home, so please bring someone to assist you if you need help.

Are there limits? How does it work?

Yes, because we only have so much food to distribute each week, we have to place some limits on the amount individuals and households can choose. We are proud to offer you a choice of food and other items and we trust that you will take only what you really need for the coming week. The "Healthy Choices" cards seen throughout the pantry are based on the USDA Food Pyramid nutritional guidelines.

A volunteer guide will assist you in interpreting the Healthy Choices signs and help you carry your items as you make your choices.

Where do you get your food from?

We are an agency of the Dare to Care Food Bank in Louisville as well as a partner of the Southeastern Indiana Baptist Food Warehouse. We also purchase certain items each week at retail to help make a more complete food package for the neighbors we serve.

Who Are Paul and Mary Sue Fisher?

Paul and Mary Sue have been fixtures here at St. Paul's for the better part of seven decades. Their tireless efforts in serving both the church and the community made it an easy decision to name the Pantry after the Fishers.
